Projects

HK Adventure

HTML - CSS - Javascript

Click to Website

HK Adventure is a story based adventure game. I loved reading "choose your own adventure" story books growing up, so wanted to recreate this experience with a story centred around living in Hong Kong.

Highlights: Learning to create CSS animations, implementing sound effects and learning to use object constructors to dynamically change the content on the page depending on the scenarios chosen by the gamer.

Built with HTML, CSS and Javascript.

Open Bottle HK

NODEJS (HAPIJS) - MONGODB

Click to Website

Open Bottle Hong Kong is a cheeky take on Open Rice (a well known website in Hong Kong for restaurants) - with a focus on showcasing the best happy hour deals in Hong Kong. Users can also sign up to the site to bookmark their favourite happy hour deals.

Highlights: Learning how to integrate the back end with the front end, user authentification (login/logout) and utilizing the full capabilities of Bootstrap to create a responsive grid.

Built using NodeJS (HapiJS) and MongoDB for the database.

Heroik

RUBY ON RAILS - POSTGRESQL

Click to Website

Heroik was a passion project built with two other developers - we wanted to highlight true "heroes" of Hong Kong that were either completing random acts of kindness, or true community warriors who are making a difference.

Highlights: Learning how to work with other developers (delegating tasks, meeting deadlines and how to utilize Github to pull changes). Implemented facebook login for users using Omniauth gem, and created one of the coolest nav bars ever!

Built using Ruby on Rails and Postgresql for the database.

Planit

RUBY ON RAILS - ANGULARJS
- POSTGRESQL

Click to Website

Planit is a website dedicated to group travel and helps share important details such as flights, accommodation, expenses and activities. The website allows users to login, upload their trip details, invite their friends, and upload notes that all group members can view.

Highlights: Creating a landing page with full screen video that is fully responsive, using AngularJS to hide/show elements (great alternatives to using modals), creating tooltips for the navbar and ensuring all styling was consistent throughout the site.

Built using Ruby on Rails, AngularJS and Postgresql for the database.

Survive Asia

UX - GRAPHIC DESIGN - WORDPRESS

Click to Website

Survive Asia was the first website where I worked closely with a web developer to create an e-commerce store (using Wordpress) based in Hong Kong. I was responsible for developing the wireframes for the site, all styling elements, logo design, creating graphics and content for the site, and taught myself basic HTML and CSS.

Built using Wordpress (PHP), also used Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator for the graphics
